Bornean Leaf-nosed Pit Viper

Trimeresurus borneensis

Description:

Second time for me to encounter this Bornean Leaf-Nosed Pit Viper - Trimeresurus borneensis, although not very long in length, this one was around 0.5 meter, it is an aggressive Snake. Each time I approached near to try to take close-up shot, it will hiss and strikes at me!

Habitat:

Tropical forest

Yes, it certainly has assumed the strike posture. I'm sure you were cautious, but am glad you got some splendid photos to share. It's a wonderful introduction to this amazing species. Thank you, Albert.

Thanks, @Neil.
Usually, I find Vipers quite 'docile', they will just stay still and hardly moves even when your camera is inches away from them. Not with this one, it surges towards me/my camera when I tried to get close.

A very interesting spotting. I didn't know there were arboreal viper species. I've seen ground-dwelling ones here, but not tree-dwellers. They all seem to be aggressive. Great photos too.
