Pyralid Moth

Endotricha sp

Description:

Brown upright anonymoth. 1 to 1.5 cm as I remember it. It has very long legs and stands diagonally upright with its rear on the surface and its head as far from the surface as it can get. Two small spots on the wings and a pale line outlining the lower edge. Antenna are held swept back

Habitat:

Another species visiting the lamp at the public phone booth. This one was only spotted once in several visits (pyralid)

Notes:

At the moment it looks as though this little guy is within Super Family Pyraloidea. The species is probably incorrect but I am almost sure this is a pyralid moth of that super family. This guy is probably under a light because it was disturbed where it slept among the grass stems and needed to be able to see to land

Thanks Jolly Ibanez. I have been working my way through http://bugguide.net/node/view/7246/bgima... as well as the reference given for the spotting but rubens.luciano has identified the moth incorrectly. The moths he is referencing hold their wings in a different manner than the one he has photographed. If you see another one let me know. I can use all the assistance I can get! :-)
