Description:

Adult Description •Medium-sized, long-tailed songbird. •Back brownish gray. •Underparts whitish with dark streaking. •White tips to corners of tail. •Thin white wingbars. •Bill short and straight. Immature Description Similar to adult, but underparts less distinctly streaked.

Habitat:

Sagebrush plains, in migration and winter also arid scrub, brush and thickets, primarily in arid or semi-arid situations, rarely around towns.

Notes:

Some genetic studies suggest that the Sage Thrasher is more closely related to mockingbirds than true thrashers.
