heliconiinae Acraea issoria
A newly emerged butterfly with a danaus look about it.
Adjacent to a small stream. Altitude 1000m.
I photographed the chrysalis 8 days ago and kept an eye on it. Today I got lucky and was able to capture the newly emerged butterfly. Heliconiinae are known for mimicry, so the danaus appearance is no surprise, being poisonous and bad tasting to most predators.
