Lepidoscia glabrella
This very small moth would have been about 6 mm long. Dark fore-wings were tented with a fringe along the trailing margins. Each wing showed seven short barred white patterns. The thorax was black and head had a tuft of yellow setae. Legs were banded and antennae were held under the wings.
Spotted under bright lights on a school building in a suburb.
My thanks to Peter Marriott for the ID. It was suggested initially that this might be a tineid moth but Peter M. explains "Psychidae. This is pretty close to this species in the Melbourne Museum. The lack of upturned palps suggests it is not Oecophorinae and the untidy hair cut suggests Tineidae or Psychidae as a first point of call". Family: Psychidae
