Robber Fly

Description:

A little unsure in this rather large robber fly with a Bee as its recent prey item. interestingly enough there seems to be some scavenger flies or midges attending the kill for their share. The is a scavenger fly or midge landed on the prey item toward its top right in the first picture as well as a hovering midge in the second picture. It almost looks like Alcimus Tristrigatus but its main prey item is Grasshoppers. Large and furry with well identified and strong legs.

Habitat:

Diverse
