Description:

The Mountain chickadee has a black neck, eye stripe, and cap. It has a short black bill. The upper parts are grey and the underparts are pale grey. This one was collecting flying insects to take back to its nest to feed its young ones.

Habitat:

Spotted in a mostly coniferous forest in central Washington State. Cascade Mountain foothills.
