Nygmia epirotica
Nygmia epirotica - a species of beautiful Tussock Moth. It seems to be their season as there was an explosion of these moths. They emerged in great numbers just before sunset in a small area, probably just emerged from their pupa. Fuzzy, light orange color with a large brownish grey mark. Wing length : 26mm (female) 17mm(male). This species may be confused with N. javanoides and N. javana.

Found plenty of them on and under leaves in around a small part of a forest trail next to a pond in Tawau Hills Park, Tawau, Sabah.
>>>Map accuracy: 100m diameter. Spotted this in with DanDoucette after returning from a walk near the park waterfall. This species was used to be grouped under the Lymantriidae family. Dan's spotting of it http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/224...
