Alloclavaria purpurea
Single or in groups, these clublike fungus grow straight out of the ground, sometimes in masses as in photo#3. Purple when fresh, they go lighter or browner as they age.
Found beside the gravel lane in the campground for the whole week I was there. Lightning Lake, Manning Park, BC. North Cascades Mountain Range.

Very cool! I just noticed that this is only the 4th spotting of this species on PN! I think it goes unnoticed most of the time!
