Grapevine Beetle

Pelidnota punctata

Description:

About 1.25" long. Tan in color. Two dots on either side of the front lower thorax, and two more at the front of the elytra. "Seams" outlined in black. Joints of legs rather spiny, and when I nudged it, it held up the back legs as if in warning that it would poke with the spines. Underside was rather fuzzy. (Sorry..camera seemed to want to focus on the screen instead of the beetle just outside the screen... still getting the knack of this new camera.)

Habitat:

My house.... a Florida Longleaf Pine/Turkey Oak Sandhill habitat.

Notes:

Yet another spotting that should be credited to my daughter!
