Unknown Sawfly Larva

Description:

Medium sized Sawfly larva. Yellowish changing to greenish along the body. orange head. Black spots arranged in two rows along each side of the body. These were knocked out of the trees by a storm but there were predominantly Oak and Pitch Pine in the woods. Sawflies are a type of wasp.

Habitat:

Wooded campground area in Sears Bellows County Park, New York.

Notes:

Family Tenthredinidae.
