Description:

Moth in the Family Euteliidae with wingspan 2.5-2.8 cm. The forewings are blue-grey with dark streaking and maroon near the base and apex

Habitat:

Widespread in eastern North America, west across southern Canada to southern British Columbia. This one was photographed at the edge of a southern deciduous forest in the midlands of South Carolina.

Notes:

Larvae feed on Staghorn sumac (Rhus hirta) and Poison ivy (Rhus radicans). Hodges#8955. Per BAMONA, this spotting is a new species record for Edgefield County.
