Description:

A rotund bird and easily recognized bird from pheasant family, mainly sandy-brown in appearance. It shows white chin and red bill, with grey crown and black-and-white 'shawl'; and it sports a black line starting at the base of bill, going around eyes and curving downwards.

Habitat:

Seen on archipelago of Embiez (mediterranean environment, French Riviera), in vineyards and farmed lands bordering some marshy lands.
