Manduca rustica
Large moth on a brick wall outside a shop before a late afternoon rainstorm. About two-and-a-half inches wide.
Thank you very much identifying my big moth, Jakubko! ConorSheaWing was right, only took about five minutes. And, hopefully, I'll get better at ID'ing my own insects ... er, "plant person" here!
Please add this to my mission, "Moths of the World:"

Gorgeous spotting, and yes, a Sphingidae! There is a much smaller different species which looks very similar, Dolba hyloeus, but I think yours is definitely Manduca rustica.
I don't know what it is, ConorSheaWing ... I'm going to have to figure out how to ID moths and things. And thank you!
Thanks, Jemma, you could see it all the way across the parking lot. Of course, the contrast between its dark coloring and the white wall helped. And ... I'm diversifying, taking pictures of insects a little. Hmm!
