Olive-backed Sunbird (Female)

Description:

Cinnyris jugularis Linnaeus, 1766 or synonym Nectarinia jugularis (Linnaeus, 1766), known as the Olive-backed Sunbird or the Yellow-breasted Sunbird, is common across southern China to the Philippines and Malaysia down to northeast Australia. They are small songbirds, at most 12 cm long. They are beautiful birds with olive green back and yellow underside. The bill is long and curves downwards. Males have a metallic blue throat and breast. They have short wings and fly with fast and direct flight, and hovers to feed. Immatures are similar to females.

Habitat:

Backyard. This species has an extremely large range and is evaluated as Least Concern by IUCN.
