Garfish

Belone belone

Description:

The garfish are generally pelagic but I've seen them hanging around reefs in the surface, like in this spotting. They are vicious looking, resembling a cross between needlefish and barracuda, but do no intentional harm. Garfish are part of the needle fish family and have the characteristic sharp beak.

Habitat:

Open ocean, usually seen in surface waters.
