Yellowhammer

Emberiza citrinella

Description:

This seedeater is a large bunting; larger than sparrow, size of blackbird. If it wasn't for that bright yellow head, one could say its colours are rather drab - strip brown and black, quite in a house sparrow range of colours...

Habitat:

Native eurasian bird and widespread through its range. Seen in montane grasslands & pastures, close to mixed and protected forest; feet of Jura mountain range.
