Rufous-throated Honeyeater (Immature)

Conopophila rufogularis

Description:

Named for the rufous-orange patch on its throat, this youngster does not yet have the patch. These little Honeyeaters are a light grey-brown on the head and down the back. The wings have yellow along the outer edge.

Habitat:

Alone in this tree, the young one was going for the nectar in the flowers on this Paperbark Tree (Melaleuca sp.) that was in the water at Mankajarra Wetlands.
