Description:

This is the first time I've found this species of Robber fly here in Washington. It's not very common. Close to 3 cm long with red legs and abdomen. Bugguide.net has a few sightings from British Columbia.

Habitat:

Spotted in the foothills of the Cascade mountains in Washington state.
