Short-palped Crane Fly

Discobola australis

Description:

This crane fly was about 18mm body/wing length and resting on burnt eucalyptus tree. Very interesting patterns on the wings in yellow and black.

Habitat:

In a local nature reserve which suffered bushfire about 10 months ago.
