Dasyscyphus virgineus S. F. Gray syn. Lachnella virginea (Batsch) Phillips New syn. Lachnum virgineum Cup 0.1 cm wide, round, closed, expanding into a shallow cup shape; cream; covered with white hairs. Stem 1.5-3mm long; densely covered in long white hairs. Spores spindle-shaped, 6-10 x 1.5-2.5µ. Habitat scattered or in large groups on dead wood, twigs, and plant stems. Found widely distributed in North America and Europe. Season April-June, September-October. Not edible
