Icterus spurius
The bill is pointed and black. The adult male has chestnut on the underparts, shoulder, and rump, with the rest of the plumage black. This male has been coming to the Hackberry trees to gather caterpillars.
The breeding habitat is semi-open areas with deciduous trees. The riparian hardwood forest and meadows around Lake Lewisville are perfect.
