Melanerpes carolinus
The red-bellied woodpecker is a zebra backed woodpecker with white rump. Red crown extends down the nape of neck. Tan breast with a tinge of red on belly, which is hard to see. The female is same as male, except she has a gray crown.
This red-bellied woodpecker was spotted in a pine tree in our campsite at Grayton Beach State Park. I love woodpeckers and always have to take their picture.
