Dragonfly

Odonata sp.

Description:

A small dragonfly, brown colouring. A frozen moment on a cold winter morning. A predatory insect, large multifaceted eyes, two wings each side, smaller wing in each pair is broader, extremely fast flying, able to swivel the head, six legs, colours of dragonflies varies greatly.

Habitat:

Found near water, rivers, dams, lakes, creeks, ponds, etc. Prefers some grasses or foliage to rest upon between flights.

Thank you Mark! I felt sorry for it though as it stayed in that position for quite a few hours thawing out - it was an incredibly long, cold morning. Makes you wonder how they can survive.
