Pandion haliaetus
The upperparts are a deep, glossy brown, while the breast is white and sometimes streaked with brown, and the underparts are pure white. The head is white with a dark mask across the eyes, reaching to the sides of the neck. The irises of the adult's eyes are golden yellow while juvenile birds are red to brown. The bill is black, with a blue cere, and the feet are white with black talons.A short tail and long, narrow wings with four long, finger-like feathers, and a shorter fifth, give it a very distinctive appearance.
Mountain valley with lakes and river stocked well with fish. Near the Colorado River as well.
Mother Osprey with 3 babies. Only 2 can be seen in the first picture. In the second picture the Mother is seen shading her hot panting babies from the sun with her wings.

Not at all Joshua, thank you! I use an OLD Quantaray 100mm-300mm lens that I used to use with my Canaon film camera. It's nothing special and it only works on a couple settings. Out of the hundreds of pictures I took of these guys only about a handful came out really crisp! I still like my lens though, I will need to invest in a new one in the near future...
dude this is amazing. what kind of lens are you usin if you dont mind my askin?
Thanks Adam! I believe they are the same mated pair that come back each year! It's always cool to see them and see how they are doing each year!
