Striated Pardalote

Pardalotus striatus substriatus

Description:

Tiny, busy bird of the bushland, male and female similar, white under neath, bright yellow patch under chin to chest, same on either side of belly, black cap with yellow patch either side of forehead in front of eyes, white dash or eyebrow, dark grey/brown and black on back, wings and tail, tiny red dot and white stripe on wings. Insect eater, nests in earth and earth banks usually, this one gathering grass to line the nest.

Habitat:

Found in east and north of Australia.
