Pyralid Moth

Heteromicta tripartitella

Description:

A small moth about 10 mm long resting in the grouting on a wall. Its wings were a deep brown with a wide blue-green band across. Within the band was a diffuse dark pattern near the costal margin. Blue-green setae on the thorax appeared to be extending forward over the head in a low peak. The thorax showed a low profile tuft of dark setae. Antennae were swept back.

Habitat:

Near a sports field - under bright lights
