Noctuid Moth

Proteuxoa mesombra

Description:

A noctuid moth with a wing span of 30 mm. Fore wings were pale brown with dark triangles in the mid regions. Each of the triangles had a red comma-shaped pattern. Thorax had thick grey setae with a thin black band.

Habitat:

Spotted at a local sports field. Records indicate that this moth occurs in South Australia and Tasmania.
