Tarantula

Description:

Big hairy black spider . It was about 13 cm long. On its legs it seemed to have some different colored " bands" It's back part was silvery grey black>

Habitat:

It lives in a burrow just outside our gate...bbrrr! Near the mangroves, jungle and pineapple plantation. Phuket, Thailand

Notes:

I had noticed this burrow and was curious to find out who lived there. I thought it could be a spider. When we came home this evening and I was opening the gate, I saw something move from the corner of my eye. It pulled itself back into the burrow. When I returned a bit later I saw these hairy legs and there it was.....It let itself be photographed and did not seem scared at all / or aggressive. I took these pictures with my Iphone and just want to let everybody know how brave I am. I used to be scared looking at the Videoclip " Cambodia" from Kim Wilde!!! :-)
