Cedar Waxwing

Bombycilla Cedrorum

Description:

7" adult back and laid-back crest brown, soft brown chest grades to yellow belly, wings gray with waxy red tips on secondaries, black eye mask, edged in white. Tail gray with yellow band at tip. Immature stripted brown with white eye line. Often in flocks.

Habitat:

Woodland edges, shrubs, gardens Range: May- November all New England; November- April: Central and Southern New England.

Notes:

These photos were taken at the bog/swamp at the bottom of Essex Hill. Also accessible of Stillwater Ave. at the end of a small subdivision with a dead end road.
