Convolvulus Hawk Moth ♂

Description:

A male Convolvulus Hawk Moth, Agrius convolvuli (Linnaeus, 1758) (Sphingidae; Sphinginae) showing its long proboscis while feeding at a yellow alder flower. Take note of its proboscis making an almost 90° angle from its mouth to the flower below (flower not shown in the photo).

Backyard garden.
