Gouty Oak Gall

Cynipinae sp.

Description:

At least, I expect Cynipinae order, because they are the Oak Gall Wasps and this was an oak tree (Laurel or other thin leafed oak sp.)

Habitat:

Growing on a thin low branch of a laurel or likewise thin-leafed oak tree. Did not appear to have been burrowed out of yet.

Notes:

If I ever ended up becoming an entomologist of some sort, I'd want to focus my studies on galls, because it shouldn't be this hard to find which gall wasp makes which galls on what trees.
