Description:

I saw this wasp bringing what I think was food into the nest (see photo 5). The last photo was taken Jan 31. I was told this might be Parancistrocerus fulvipes rufovestis or Pachodynerus erynnis

Habitat:

It made the nest in the broken handle of a trash can in a suburban yard next to a forest

Thank you! I tried to get a photo of it outside of the nest. It stayed hidden in there so long and didn't come out until I was gone. I submitted to bugguide but I'd be surprised if I did get a species ID
