Brown Shrike

Lanius cristatus

Description:

small- medium sized bird. Brown back and whitish lower part, also they have a black "mask" on their face and a curved upper beak which they use to hook onto the prey as they are affectionately called the butcher bird. .

Habitat:

Found throughout the Philippines and most of Asia, this guy hangs out near the window by our wall, which has barbed wires so maybe it uses it to spike its prey!

Notes:

I got lucky taking pictures up close because it didn't notice me from behind the window screen, still my photo is kinda blurry my apologies, but this is the closest I was to the bird, like around 1-2 meters. I saw a bunch of birds hangout in this little closed alley in our home.
