Atlas moth caterpillar

Attacus atlas

Description:

A very large, fat caterpillar, light green with a dusted look about it. Rows of long, rough protuberances along its back and smooth, thin, light blue projections around its head and along the flanks.

Habitat:

Adjacent to a small stream. Altitude 1000m.

Notes:

A most impressive caterpillar, about 2.5” long, but will grow to 4.5” before it is done. I resisted the boyish temptation to take it home to study, but have not seen it since :(
