I was excited to find this ladybug, because normally I encounter multicolored Asian lady beetles. This one definitely did not have the distinctive "W," and was more oval than Asian lady beetles.

This one had me fooled for a moment! Many apologies. You are right! The markings on the protonum are different. Nice find!
