Heliconia bihai x caribaea
This plant has striking scarlet alternating bracts. For this reason, heliconias are popularly kept as ornamental plants.
Heliconia only grows in humus-rich soils and is drought intolerant. This specimen was found in the rainforest of Akaka Falls State Park.
There are 100-200 species of Heliconia. Not sure of species, but it is visually similar to Heliconia bihai x caribaea cv. ‘Criswick'. May also be Heliconia bihai ‘Balisier’.

Okay, thank you!
Yes, it would be, since lobster-claw is a common name for many Heliconia plant species. As long as your specimen belongs to the Heliconia genus, you can call it lobster-claw! :)
Very interesting. I have photographed a plant that looks similar to it, would it still be a Lobster Claw plant with if yellow with more tubular leaves?
