Common Eastern Velvet Ant

Dadymutilla occidentalis

Habitat:

Found on bush in front of my workshop.

Notes:

I spend a lot of time in this location. Females are frequently seen patrolling on the ground and males flying around looking for them. This male landed near me and gave me a good opportunity to photograph it.
