Pyrrharctia isabella
Moth of the iconic weelly bear caterpillar. In the coldest regions of its range, the caterpillar freezes solid when it overwinters, awakens in spring, feeds and grows and then again overwinters as a caterpillar. This has been documented to take as many as 14 summers in the arctic. The adult is a golden orange color with bright red forelegs and light spotting on the wings
