Description:

The Great blue heron is the largest heron in North America. Slate gray plumage with long orangish-yellow bill and black crown and head plumes.

Habitat:

Spotted in grass covered sand dunes at Fort Morgan.

Thanks so much Neil. This one was such a good model - it was like it was expecting to have its picture taken. It did help to have the sun low in horizon. It was about an hour before sunset.
