Polypedates leucomystax
It is a common species found in disturbed forests, scrubland, parks and gardens. Its repetitive monosyllabic call is an instantly recognizable sound in much of rural Southeast Asia. Most commonly encountered a few feet from the ground clinging to small stems, it may also be found in puddles on wet ground. Its color varies from green-grey to a less common ruddy-brown; the four lines on its back may be absent in some populations, just like in this spotting. The Polypedates leucomystax (Gravenhorst, 1829) is a species in the shrub frog family Rhacophoridae. It is known under numerous common names, including Common Tree Frog, Four-lined tree frog, Golden Gliding Frog, Golden Tree Frog, Asian White-lips, White-lipped Tree Frog, Flying Leopard Frog or Striped Tree Frog.
