Found about 100 feet from a large pond, right near the base of a large oak tree.

Yeah, really hard to say without a picture of the gills, but my initial thought is Agaricus.

I will go look for it tomorrow! It will be awhile after that before I can post pictures if it is still there, but I will be sure to let you know if I find it again :)

Beautiful Ashley,are you going to have the chance of seeing him again in a week or so? in this stage without a photo of the gills(that will showup in a few days)the id is very dificult to a amatteur like me,maybe Gully can give you a clue about this one,it's funny that the growd where mushrooms growed is similar allover the globe,under a tree,between mosses and dead leafs :-)
