Description:

Small and short tailed bird, often seen in this position, perched in ambush - looks like a bright blue flying jewel. It provide a spectacular sight when flying down and catching prey.

Habitat:

Seen in protected marshes (Mategnin les Fontaines), one of the few remaining ones in Geneva suburbs. These wetlands are situated exactly on the border between Switzerland and France.
