Flower-feeding March Fly-male

Description:

A fly resembling a bee about 10 mm long. Eyes were strikingly green in the bright sunlight. Thorax was striped and hairy. The first three abdominal segments were black with a patch of yellow in the mid-line, the rest of the segments were yellow. The body was covered with thick hair. The eyes seemed to meet along the mid-line suggesting that this fly was male.

Notes:
