Pitta moluccensis
Blue greenish bird. Had a golden orangy spot on his chest. Big beak.
Garden with rubber trees, banana trees and lots of other tropical plants. Not common in this garden. It was around midday.
This "juvenile"? bird flew into our window. I was in my bedroom and saw this flash of green blue hit our window. Here on the picture it was still very groggy. Later on it crawled out of the basket and eventually flew away.
This Blue Winged Pitta was in Thailand. We had quite a few in our garden. But I'll check out RMB!
Blue winged pittas are not very commonly spotted in Singapore. Also, the fact that it knocked into your window could probably provide some important statistics. Why don't you comment on tidechaser.blogspot.com? They've dealt with pittas before.
Wow! Have you reported this to any nature organizations? I suggest posting it on Facebook (if you have it) to the Raffles Museum of Biodiversity page.
