I think this is a Tithonia sp. Hard to identify plants without photos of the leaves and whole plant unless the flowers are very distinctive.
This looks more like a downy to me based on the small beak
Wow! Great shots! I love the vivid colors. This should be moved to the arthropods category :) Most people don't know these are actually crustaceans.
Some sort of jellydisc fungus or something similar?

Great photo! Love the green from the algae on it. Just going on the fact that it is three-toed and in Costa Rica, I was able to narrow it down for you. Habitat section is really important to fill out on PN too :)
