About 20cm long, with compressed body and small mouth, with a range of vertical blackish stripes.

Habitat:

Native to Mediterranean sea (and Atlantic) this is a common fish in Adriatic sea. Here, seen in shallow waters on rocky coasts near busy beaches ; Adriatic sea, Dubrovnik riviera.
