Black-capped Chickadee

Poecile atricapilla

Description:

A Black-capped Chickadee taking off from a tree stump

Habitat:

On a tree stump next to a (frozen) lake but within five miles of wetlands, farmlands and woodlands

Notes:

Black-capped Chickadees are frequent visitors to our bird feeders all year long. They really seem to like Black-oil Sunflower seeds, unsalted roasted peanuts (without skins), Niger Thistle and beef suet in the winter months.
