The thick-headed fly is an amazing wasp mimic. Dark red with black marking and a yellow face. the species has a variable appearance. One set of wings and fly-like antennae help differentiate it from wasp in appearance.

It certainly does. Unlike any fly I've ever seen. It's a great spotting!
