Spinus tristis
Male goldfinch in first photos; female in the last photo. The male is a vibrant yellow in the summer and an olive color during the winter months, while the female is a dull yellow-brown shade which brightens only slightly during the summer. The male displays brightly colored plumage during the breeding season to attract a mate.

Thanks for your nice comments, beaker98, k.andrews6, flowersdanisa and Marta! The males in breeding plumage really are a stunning golden color!
Love goldfinches!
Goldfinches and Woodpeckers are among my favorite birds. Their plumage is so vibrant. Your shots are all great, by the way.
